About Doctor:
Dr. Saurabh Makkar is an accomplished Consultant Otolaryngologist (ENT specialist) with a strong educational and professional background in the field of ENT surgery. He earned his DNB (ENT) in December 2016 and completed his Master of Surgery (MS) in ENT from Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi, where he was awarded a Gold Medal for his outstanding performance. He also holds an MBBS degree from Coimbatore Medical College, Tamil Nadu.
Dr. Makkar is currently working as a Consultant Otolaryngologist at Tulip Multispeciality Hospital, Sonipat, since September 2020. Prior to this, he completed a Senior Residency at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital from September 2017 to September 2020, which enriched his clinical experience and surgical skills.
His research focuses on head and neck cancers, and his Master’s dissertation involved studying the relationship between epidermal growth factor receptors, tumor thickness, and their clinical and histopathological parameters. He has actively participated in national and international conferences, presenting papers and posters on head and neck oncology and rhinology. Dr. Makkar also earned a Fellowship in Rhinoplasty & Facial Plastic Surgery in 2019.
Dr. Makkar has been involved in numerous academic and professional events, including presenting at the 68th Annual Conference of the AOI and winning the 3rd prize in the Rhinology Quiz. His commitment to his profession is also reflected in his participation in various medical initiatives, such as the Life Line Express, an initiative promoted by UNDP, UNICEF, and WHO.
